Arising from positive psychology (Seligman, Csikszentmihalyi), it focuses on the person's strengths and internal resources rather than on their symptoms. By empowering the individual and reinforcing their resilience and optimism, it rebuilds a sense of personal usefulness. It is indicated for depression with low self-worth and anxiety disorders with self-deprecation.
